Our story
Our Story
Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee. Its highland regions — Yirgacheffe, Sidama, Harrar, Limu, Jimma — produce some of the most distinctive and celebrated coffees in the world. We founded SuperNile Coffee because we believed Canadian businesses deserved direct access to these origins, without the layers of intermediaries that obscure provenance and inflate cost.
Based in Calgary, Alberta, we import Ethiopian coffee directly and hold inventory in Canada. That means faster lead times, full traceability on every lot, and a supplier who can answer your questions without going through a broker. We work with roasters, retailers, cafés, restaurants, and distributors — any business that takes Ethiopian green coffee seriously.

Every lot we supply is traceable to its region, washing station, and processing method. We provide documentation so you can tell your customers exactly where their coffee comes from.

We source Grade 1 and Grade 2 lots from Ethiopia's best-known growing regions. We cup our coffees and only supply lots we're confident in.
Reliability
We plan our import schedule around Ethiopian harvest cycles so our customers can count on consistent supply season after season.

The origin
Why Ethiopia
Ethiopia is where coffee was discovered, and it remains unlike anywhere else in the world. The country's diverse microclimates, ancient heirloom varieties, and centuries of cultivation tradition produce coffees with a complexity and character that simply cannot be replicated. From the floral, tea-like brightness of Yirgacheffe to the wild, berry-forward naturals of Harrar, Ethiopian coffee offers a range that no other single origin can match. We focus exclusively on Ethiopian origins because we believe in depth over breadth — and because Ethiopia's coffee story is one worth telling.

We are based in Calgary, Alberta and supply businesses across Canada. Our inventory is held in Canada, which means we can fulfil orders quickly and work with your production schedule. We ship to all provinces and territories and can arrange delivery or local pickup for Calgary-area customers.
